To Say there was resistance would be an understament! We've come a long way but have we gone the right way! There are still rumours on maximum quotas on ethnic models during fashion week. And from all reports Black designers are comfortable with it! As I sit with elders to document the history of Black fashion I am reminded that there is little new under the sun! Very little is documented about fashion in the community, almost a half century later we still are debating the pros and cons of using our models. Why?
