A-liners Show For Cause

Brooklyn's Jazz, Fashion, Youth and Caribbean entertainment communities will join Friends and Board Members of the Caribbean American Center of New York as they pay "Tribute to Women Making History in the 21st Century":

Yolanda Jimenez, Commissioner, NYC Mayor's Office of Domestic Violence
Dolly L. Williams, Commissioner, NYC Planning & VP, Williams Construction
Yvonne Graham, Deputy Borough President of Brooklyn
Professor, Dr. Eda Hastick, Medgar Evers College & Caribbean Chamber of Commerce
Jocelyne Mayas, Governor Pataki's Office of Citizenship & Haitian Community Activist, and
Lillian Roberts, Executive Director of DC 37-AFSCME Union.

This event also aimed at raising funds to benefit to benefit CACNY College Scholarships, Job Training, Immigration and Homeless Children Programs. will feature a Buffet Luncheon and takes place on Sunday April 10, 2005, from 1pm to 6pm
at the historic Brooklyn Memorial Building at Cadman Plaza Park,
195 Cadman Plaza West, downtown Brooklyn (off Tillary & Court Street)
organizers promise an afternoon of excitement, great food, dancing to live music and fabulous fashions from Brooklyn's leading designers.



In support of this fundraiser the Jazz of Fashion will feature it's scheduled presentation of Jazz of Fashion's, Brooklyn's A-liners. Jazz of Fashion is the annual fashion event at the Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival, A-liners is a month-long celebration of Brooklyn's leading fashion designers commemorating the sixth anniversary of the CBJC Jazz Festival. Sponsored by Community businesses and organizations, the young men and women of FashionFlyte support local commnity causes through their presentaions!

Brooklyn designers Courtney Washington, Brenda Brunson Bey, Raif., Akini couture, Carla Selby NY are a few of the thirty plus designers participating in the event! Live music will be provided by veteran jazz bassist Bob Cunningham and Tropical Rhythms led by Rick Dalgetty. They are expected to be joined by young Caribbean and American musical talent!
